Ever wonder what "being yourself" on social media really looks like? I mean, can you really be 100% yourself and still be taken seriously??
I used to wonder about that question A LOT early on in my business and even still, sometimes it can feel a bit unclear. But let me tell you what conclusion I've come to:
It's entirely up to you! When we take the risk to put our full selves out there, we will always be running the risk of turning people "off". So it's important to keep in mind that you aren't for everyone and THAT'S OK!
Going further, let's talk about what you should share and how much you should share! Share things that are aligned with your business's personality and values. Share things that further communicate how you as a person embody your mission and values. This will all help to clearly communicate the message you have for your audience.
If you're someone who doesn't want to blast all aspects of their life on social media, that's OK, too. Share BTS content that you are comfortable sharing. You don't have to take your audience to every family function, walk in the park, or restaurant that you go to. Find other fun ways to let them get to know you instead like sharing and IGTV on your journey or talking about life moments that you do want to share on your stories.
Make social media a place that you feel comfortable showing up in.
And lastly, I feel like I need to say this: Don't put too much pressure on yourself all at once. Showing up on video even for a few seconds can be really uncomfortable! Have grace for yourself and take it one step at a time.
